Qualifying as a dog-friendly self-catering holiday cottage doesn't just mean advertising 'dogs welcome'.
At Gwelmor in Widemouth Bay, north Cornwall, we do all we can to ensure that our four-legged VIPs feel as much at home as their owners.
As a result we're extremely proud to have received rave reviews from dog owners who have stayed with us, many of whom have become repeat guests.
Not only that, but we've won four industry awards for our dog-friendly nature. In April 2022, we were named the South West's Best Dog Friendly Business 2021/2022 and earlier that year crowned Dog Friendly Business of the Year in the Cornwall Tourism Awards 2021/22.
We also achieved Bronze in the same category for two years running prior to that and in 2019/2020, we were also commended for Self Catering Accommodation of the Year.
Gwelmor was launched in 2017 after owners, Jayne and Bill, turned an empty three bedroom bungalow into a luxurious holiday cottage with dogs very much in mind.
The project came after the couple themselves experienced some rather dicey, so-called 'dog friendly’ properties, whilst on holiday with their spaniels Molly and Indy - before the arrival of little pup Margo.
