With easy access to the South West Coast Path there's some simply stunning but challenging walks right from Gwelmor's doorstep.
Launched in 2017, Gwelmor's owners were keen to provide a holiday home that was as welcoming to dogs as humans, but not compromising on luxury. The cottage combines real comforting charm with striking furniture and quirky decor.
Gwelmor has parking for up to three vehicles and an Electric Vehicle charging point. When you pull up outside Gwelmor its initial appearance can be quite deceiving. Opening the front door you find yourself stepping into a spacious hallway, the walls of which are decorated with framed vintage vinyl album covers and a selection of local artwork.
Off to the left, the hallway takes you down to the spacious, open plan kitchen/lounge/diner which makes a great social place for the family to spend quality together. Sliding patio doors lead out to a to a fully enclosed wrap-around garden.
The wrap-around garden provides a patio area for alfresco dining and barbecues along with a lawned section. Two lockable gates and 5-6ft fencing all round provides a safe place for toddlers and dogs to play.
Back inside and taking the hallway to the right off to the right from the entrance are the three stylish bedrooms - two king size, one with an en-suite shower room, a twin and large family bathroom.
The king-size bedroom with en-suite is equipped with a Smart TV and stylish furniture made from from sustainable wood made in Devon. All our super comfy mattresses are organic and also handmade in Devon.
The second king-size 'teal' bedroom has a TV and DVD and similar sustainably sourced furniture.
The third 'blue and copper' bedroom is a twin with a bespoke wardrobe space made, once again, from sustainably sourced wood in Devon.
The large family bathroom makes bath time a pleasure. Complimentary luxury scented hand wash, body wash, shampoo and conditioner made in Cornwall are provided in refillable mounted bottles throughout.
Back in the open plan social hub, the kitchen is modern and well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, convection/grill/microwave oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Eating in? Well why not stir up a treat using some of the fresh herbs provided in the garden?
For our younger guests, we provide a travel cot, high chair, child-friendly cutlery, plates, bowls and beakers, as well as a range of soft toys, games and books.
A separate utility room provides a useful additional space with store cupboards containing supplies for your four-legged friends, such as poo bags, food and water bowls, towels for rubbing down sandy paws and extra bedding. There's also a washing machine and extra sink.
From here, a door leads out to the back garden with area for drying washing and a handy wooden outdoor unit to store muddy boots and sandy shoes.
A second door from the utility leads to a third toilet.
A third door then leads into the garage which houses a tumble dryer, a bin for recycling and cleaning equipment. Beach equipment such as bodyboards and fishing nets are also left for guests to use during their stay. Notice boards provide a whole host of information, maps of dog friendly beaches and details on tide times.
